2013 UFC Heavyweight Top 5 Rankings
Post UFC 168: Weidman vs. Silva 2
1. Cain Velasquez
Velasquez does a repeat of last year, beating Silva and Dos Santos in similar fashion leaving no doubt whos still number one.
2. Junior Dos Santos
Dos Santos rebounds by knocking out Mark Hunt which setup a trilogy with Velasquez, that unfortunately for him, ended no differently then their last fight.
3. Daniel Cormier
The Strikeforce Grand Prix winner joined the UFC beating Frank Mir and Roy Nelson, remaining undefeated, then elected to drop to light heavyweight for refusing to face Cain Velasquez.
4. Antonio Silva
The massive upset of Alistair Overeem earns him a rematch with Velasquez, this time for the title, but he would lose in similar fashion. He’d then have a war for the ages with Mark Hunt but later tests positive for high levels of testosterone.
5. Travis Browne
Browne joins the top five, going 3-0 with big wins over Gabriel Gonzaga, Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett, all by of first round knockout.
