Post UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem 


1. Junior Dos Santos 





Dos Santos solidified his number one spot beating former interim champion Shane Carwin and then knocking out Velasquez for the heavyweight title.

2. Cain Velasquez 




A shoulder injury kept Velasquez from defending his title in the summer but by the end of the year, he fight and lose to Dos Santos, going into the fight with another injury, this time his knee.


3. Alistair Overeem  




The Reem makes short work of Lesnar in his UFC debut, making a statement, finishing him off with a liver kick, making him the number one contender for the heavyweight title next year. 

4. Brock Lesnar      



With his diverticulitis back, Lesnar would only fight once losing to the debuting Overeem via a liver kick. Lesnar would then retire shortly afterwards and return to the WWE.


5. Shane Carwin 




Carwin's only fight this year was a decision loss to then number one contender, Junior Dos Santos who needed an opponent with Velasquez injured. Carwin would lose by decision, in what would be the last fight of his career due to injury.
