2010 UFC Light Heavyweight Top 5 Rankings

Post: UFC 124 - St. Pierre vs. Koscheck 2

1. Mauricio Rua

Justice was served for Shogun as he left his victory out of the hands of the judges by knocking out Machida to claim the light heavyweight title and the number one spot. But unfortunately for him, he would re-injure his knee thus delaying his fight against Evans for next year.
2. Quinton Jackson
Although Rampage returned from his layoff losing to rival Evans by getting outwrestled, he looked much better against Machida as he had him respect his power to pull off the decision, bumping him to number two.
3. Lyoto Machida
Machida took two loses back to back dropping him to number three. Shogun seemed to have him figured out in their second fight while Machida hesitated for the first two rounds in his Rampage fight, costing him a decision.
4. Rashad Evans

With wins over Thiago Silva and Rampage, Evans solidifies his spot as the next challenger for Shogun’s title, but he will have to wait as Shogun’s injured yet again.
5. Ryan Bader
Bader continues to stay undefeated this year, this time against more credible competition in Keith Jardine and former ranked Pride light heavyweight, Antonio Nogueira. The pair of wins put him one fight away from a title shot after Evans vs. Shogun next year.
