Post UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008

1. Frank Mir

Frank Mir’s resurgence is complete with victories over Lesnar and Nogueira to win the interim title and with a victory over the current champion, this places him back at number one.

2. Brock Lesnar

In 2008, Lesnar made his debut in the UFC losing to Frank Mir. After just one win over Heath Herring, he was granted a title shot where he beats Couture for the actual title. This controversially places him at number two.

3. Randy Couture

Couture spent most of 2008 tangled in a lawsuit with the UFC for wanting to leave. He eventually returns, losing the title to newcomer Lesnar in a fight where he was very competitive in up until the TKO loss.

4. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

Nogueira becomes the interim champion two fights into his UFC career defeating Tim Sylvia. He then coaches TUF against Frank Mir where he suffers the first stoppage loss of his career.

5. Tim Sylvia

With Couture stuck in a lawsuit with the UFC, Sylvia fought for the interim title against the former Pride heavyweight champion Nogueira losing by submission in a fight he was winning up until that point. This would be his last fight in the UFC before going to Affliction.
