1998 UFC Heavyweight Top 3 Rankings

Post UFC Brazil: Ultimate Brazil

1. Tsuyoshi Kosaka

Kosaka debuted this year, showing his submission skills in his win over Kimo and beating Williams to earn a chance at Randy Couture’s vacant title.

2. Pete Williams

The head kick heard round the world was courtesy of this man. However a loss to Kosaka takes him out of title contention.

3. Mark Coleman

The godfather of ground and pound’s only fight was a historic knockout loss to Pete Williams. He's number 3 by default as 1998 was not a good year for heavyweights.
