1995 UFC Heavyweight Top 5 Rankings

 Post Ultimate Ultimate 1995

1. Royce Gracie

This was Gracie's weakest showing with his lone fight being a draw in a fight where if there were judges he would have lost a unanimous decision to Shamrock. But fighting to preserve his record keeps him here at number one.

2. Ken Shamrock

Shamrock earns the number two spot, becoming the first UFC Superfight champion by beating Dan Severn, but that was not before fighting to a draw against Gracie to also become the first UFC fighter to not lose to him.

3. Dan Severn

After coming close to winning The UFC 4 tournament last year, Severn came back to win the fifth tournament. That win earned him a Superfight title shot against Shamrock in a losing effort to him, but afterwards he would win yet another tournament to solidify the number three spot.

4. Patrick Smith

Smith only fought once this year winning his fight, but pulled out of the rest of the tournament due to injury.

5. Oleg Taktarov

Although having lost twice to Severn in two separate tournaments, Taktarov would win one in between both losses which would earn him a title shot against Shamrock where they would fight to a draw.
