1994 UFC Heavyweight Top 5 Rankings
Post UFC 4: Revenge of the Warriors
1. Royce Gracie
Was there ever any doubt? 1994 was the best year for Gracie as he went on an eight fight winning streak, winning two of the next three tournaments, including a win over future hall of famer, Dan Severn.
2. Ken Shamrock
Shamrock went a perfect 2-0 where the anticipated rematch with Gracie was inevitable but it unfortunately didn’t happen due to Shamrock pulling out of the tournament.
3. Patrick Smith
Smith rebounded in a big way as he ran right through his first three opponents of tournament two, until he ran into Royce Gracie. But having losses to only him and Ken Shamrock makes him a solid third best in 1994.
4. Steve Jennum
The unlikely winner of the UFC 3 tournament earns a place at number 4, for his single victory as an alternate which earned him as spot at UFC 4 which he got yet another stoppage victory, going 2-0 that year.
5. Remco Pardoel
Having the third best performance in the second UFC tournament earns Pardoel spot at number five, as he won his first two fights before losing to the eventual repeat champion, Royce Gracie in the semi finals.
